One of Many begins with a single cell in the centre, transitioning into nerves and red blood cells, expanding into sand and grass, the ocean and finally the galaxy. By starting at the cellular level and branching out, I show that the smallest things can contribute to something greater, as each small piece plays an important role in the world. This piece is about reflecting on how every small piece of the world is essential. In my painting I have emphasized that all the small details are needed to create the bigger picture. In the gallery I also noticed many art pieces that were circular, symbolizing cycles and eternity. We live as though life revolves around us, but we are simply a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Through One of Many, I have expressed that everything is part of the same whole.
This piece is part of Emma's personal collection.
