About Me
Hi, I'm Emma. I've been making art for as long as I can remember, but over the past few years it's become a much bigger part of my life. I love being able to express myself, share ideas and stories visually, and capture moments that mean something to me. I started Emmagine Art because I wanted to see if my art could grow into something more, and I thought, why not me?
Her Story
Some of my earliest memories of making art are little marker drawings and creating whatever came to mind. During COVID, I started painting almost every week, and that's when art became a much bigger part of my life. I started experimenting more, trying new things and figuring out what I liked to create.
Last year, I applied and was selected for a year-long local youth scholarship program. Through the program, I've had the opportunity to exhibit my work in curated exhibitions and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes in the art world.
Art has also become a way for me to connect with other people. I've been involved with the art club at my high school and now help run the club, where I get to create and share ideas with other students. I also volunteer doing art with seniors, which has shown me how art can bring people together in a completely different way.
All of these experiences have made me want to share my work more publicly and see where I can take it. That's really where Emmagine Art came from, a place for me to share what I'm creating, tell some of the stories behind my work, and see where it might lead.
Inspiration
A lot of my inspiration comes from nature. I think nature is its own piece of art, and when I see something beautiful, it makes me want to capture that moment in my own way. I'm also inspired by memories, past experiences and moments that stay with me. Sometimes an idea starts with something sentimental, beautiful or fun, and I like finding a way to turn that feeling or story into something visual. Acrylic painting is probably my favourite, but I also love watercolour and experimenting with new materials and styles.
